Road Closures/works: Junction 10 M25/A3 w/c Monday 4 August

Monday 4 August 2025 & Wed 6 August 2025

For two nights the M25 will be closed in both directions between junctions 10 and 11 to begin removal of the temporary barriers and begin the reinstatement of permanent lanes. The closures will be in place from:

  • 10pm to 5.30am on each night

Diversions:

  • Westbound (clockwise) diversion: drivers travelling on the westbound M25 towards Heathrow will be diverted from the M25 at junction 10 to use the A3 northbound towards London, leave at the Esher interchange and reverse southbound. Traffic will be directed to leave the A3 at the Painshill junction and follow the A245 westbound towards Byfleet from Painshill and the A320 to rejoin the M25 at junction 11. Diversion map link.
  • Eastbound (anticlockwise) diversion: drivers travelling on the eastbound M25 towards Gatwick will be diverted from the M25 at junction 11 to join the A320, then the A245 to Painshill to use the A3 southbound to rejoin the M25 at junction 10. Diversion map link.

Tuesday 5 August 2025 & Thursday 7 August 2025

For two nights the M25 will be closed in both directions between junctions 9 and 10 to continue the removal of the temporary barriers and to continue the reinstatement of the permanent lanes. The closure will be in place from:

  • 10pm to 5.30am on each night

Diversions:

· Travelling on the eastbound (anticlockwise) M25 (towards Gatwick): Traffic will be directed to leave the M25 at junction 10, follow the A3 towards London, leave at the Esher interchange and reverse southbound. Traffic will be directed to leave the A3 at the Painshill junction and follow the A245 towards Cobham to the Between Streets junction with the A307 (approximately 0.6 miles). Then take the first exit to the A307 towards Esher to the Scilly Isles junction with the A309 Kingston Bypass (approximately 4.5 miles). Take the second exit onto the A309 Kingston Bypass up to the A3 Hook Junction (approximately 2.1 miles). At the Hook junction, take the second exit to the A243 towards Hook and Malden Rushett and Join the M25 at Junction 9 (approximately 5.3 miles). Diversion map link.

· Travelling on the westbound (clockwise) M25 (towards Heathrow): Traffic will be directed to leave the M25 at junction 9, then follow the A243 towards Malden Rushett and Chessington (Approximately 5.3 miles). At the Hook Junction turn left onto the A309 Kingston Bypass and continue to the Scilly Isles junction with the A307 (approximately 2.1 miles). Then take the first exit to the A307 towards Esher and Cobham to the Between Streets Junction (approximately 4.5 miles). At the junction of the A307 Portsmouth Road take the second exit to the A245 and head towards Painshill Junction to join the southbound A3 to junction 10. Diversion map link.

Access to Cobham Services will be maintained for employees and hotel guests, the entry point will be at the M25 junction 9 entry slip road. The inside lane of the A243 on the approach to junction 9 will be closed. Staff and hotel guests will need to enter the coned off lane to be able to access into the closure at the junction 9 entry slip, we will then provide escorted access to the services (see attached documents). There may be a small delay while the escort is transiting the works. In the attached document, the entry point is where it shows ‘Works Traffic Only’. For staff and hotel guests leaving the services, they will need to join the anticlockwise (eastbound) M25 and then leave at junction 9 to follow the diversion routes if they were planning on heading clockwise (westbound).

Monday 4 August 2025 to Thursday 7 August 2025

For four nights, Ockham Roundabout will be fully closed to continue with construction and technology.

Access to Mill Lane will be maintained – for access use B2215 Portsmouth Road and an escort will be provided at the closure point.

Diversions:

  • A3 Southbound traffic will be diverted to Burpham and return A3 Northbound, leave via B2215 Send.
  • Traffic travelling from Ripley Village to join the NB A3 will be directed Southbound on the B2215 Portsmouth Road to the Burntcommon roundabout then the A247 Towards Clandon then join the A3 Southbound, leave at Burpham and return on the Northbound A3.
  • Traffic travelling from Wisley Lane towards Ockham roundabout will be diverted back along Wisley lane to Lock Lane, northbound on Pyrford Road towards West Byfleet, A245 Eastbound (Parvis Road) to Painshill Rbt to rejoin the A3.
  • Ockham Road North traffic will use the existing diversion routes to join the above routes.

Friday 8 August 2025 & Saturday 9 August 2025 – Extended Hours closure:

For two nights the A3 Northbound Entry slip from M25 Junction 10 will be closed from 9pm to 6am.

  • Diversion will be via A3 south to Ockham, then A3 Northbound
